Meet Deirdre Connolly
Deirdre Connolly serves as Of Counsel at Patil Law, where she largely advises clients during the pre-litigation phase of disputes. She provides legal guidance during the early stages of conflicts and develops strategies for the efficient resolution of claims. Her practice focuses on representing victims of Ponzi schemes, broker misconduct, investment fraud, immigration investment fraud, and other related areas. Deirdre is admitted to practice law in New York.
Before joining Patil Law, Deirdre specialized in commercial litigation in New York, representing corporate clients at both the trial and appellate levels in state and federal actions. Her experience encompasses a range of issues, including breach of contract, fraud, bad faith, negligence, and vicarious liability. She has successfully and cost-effectively resolved cases through motion practice, mediation, and pre-litigation settlements, working with both represented and unrepresented litigants.
In her litigation practice, Deirdre collaborated closely with in-house counsel, corporate officers, and company agents to analyze and provide recommendations on extra-contractual liability, best business practices, and litigation preparation. She also managed several national litigation programs for major insurance companies across more than 25 states, overseeing the resolution and litigation of competing life insurance claims. This involved the retention and supervision of collaborating law firms in multiple jurisdictions throughout the United States.
Deirdre spent more than ten years working with the United Nations and other international organizations in the Middle East and North Africa, where she held various positions focused on reforming legal institutions and promoting post-conflict recovery and development. She is dedicated to leveraging her legal and analytical skills to address complex challenges and advance the interests of her clients and partners.
Deirdre holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Public International Law from Queen Mary University of London. She has recently qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of International Arbitrators in the United Kingdom.
